HID Projector Retrofit

Postby TPG on Fri Jan 11, 2013 8:29 am

Hey all,

Something that is gaining popularity is the HID retrofit. Those of us with dull headlight, or CT9A's without HID's, don't have many options for improving light output. Sure you can get some uprated globes (bandaid solution at best), put HID's in stock housing (horrible light distribution and annoyance to oncoming cars)

However companies like:

Sell kits that actually place a projector inside your existing headlights. Of course you need to split them apart (heat gun or oven), a bit of painting and custom work (dremel comes in handy) but the results can be pretty good and the new proper light output is awesome.

Evo 5/6 headlight split apart with projector test fitted.

All done using guides on the net, and is a very similar process to those wanting to paint the insides of their CT9A headlights (ie VII's to the matt black of other models)

Thanks for reading.
