Evo 9 vs Evo 10

Postby nice1bruva on Wed Mar 21, 2012 5:31 pm

Evo 9 vs Evo 10 - that is the question ladies and gentlemen - which is the better car?

I would love some feedback from folks who have owned, driven or worked on both.

Cheers.

Evo 10 will hold its value more, and likely a superior platform for daily drive/club sprints.

^ yeah not really.

evo x's can be picked up pretty cheap nowadays, they aren't worth that much anymore.

As to which one is better, take both for a drive and decide what you want. The evo X's are a lot more refined for a start, the CT9A have that raw feeling and won't be as comfy as the X. But what are you using the car for, that will dictate which one is better for you.

Thanks guys, I want it for a daily drive, but want to tune/mod it and run somewhere around 250kw atw in the short term and then 300kw atw further down the track.

Some day it will turn into a weekend cruiser and possibly a track car.

I am not really worred too much about the value it holds, for me it's about performance, reliablity and driveability.

Plus with Mitsubishi going down the Hybrid parth, I think all "REAL" Evo's will start holding better value.

There hasn't been a "real" evo since the Makinnen IMO.

Both are good cars, and will have similar routes/costs to get to your power figures. Drive both. Some love the X more, some love the IX more.

Ive driven both - Both had money spent on them and both around the same KW.

I'm selling my EVO 9 probably for an EVO 10 but only because of Leasing arrangements. IMO (i agree with Jonson actually) since the TME the EVOs have been getting a little bit "softer" made for executives and midlife crisis.

I'd buy what you can afford basically - difference between the two - EVO 9 around $35, EVO 10 around $45. modification for both to get to 250KW probably the same around say $6K.

Do you have $41K or $51K to spend?
