Full Supp Regs will be out shortly.

However that is correct, Tyres must be treaded R-Spec / R-Compounds tyres (such as Hankook Z221 / Advan A050 or A048). This excluded full and "grooved" slicks (such as Hankook Z214's & BFGoodrich R1/R1S)

^ You are just talking about semi slicks right? I'm going to be rocking around in just normal street Potenza's (re002). I shouldn't have a worry with regulations right?

Getting pretty excited! Race brake fluid and fire extinguisher going in this weekend :D

Is there going to be a post on EvolutionOz too?

Street Class has you catered for running "street tyres"!

Just the open class is treaded R-comp only, inline with other state based TA's.

SA Time Attack is up on Facebook & I'd suggest an increase in traffic once supp regs are out.

^^ Ahh ok, I read in the regs that the street class can run a tyre with a UTQG rating or 120 or higher, trying to find out what tyres fall into this category, I checked the Street Class on the Time Attack website (don't know if it is relevant to this event or not) and it says tread ware of 140 or greater is ok. For example the tread ware on my Z221 softs is 80, so a no brainer I cant use them, and my DZ101 Dunlop's are 300. I would like to run as soft as possible but dont know now what I can use...

Regarding tyres for street class, Tyres with UTQG ratings of above 120 is the usual benchmark between R-spec or R-Compounds and Street Tyres. If there is an R-Comp or R-Spec that has a rating of 120 or above it will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

All the leading performance tyres from major manufactures are eligible. Direzza Starspec from Dunlop, R-s3 from Hankook, KU-36, AD08. Despite what they're commonly called these tyres are not semi-slicks and just the highest performance street tyres.

FYI, Rs-3, KU-36 and Z1 Starspec all were at the pointy end of the comp in 2011/12. Although offerings from Federal, Falken and BFGoodrich also had good history here.
